Maggie and Molly are the American Cream Draft Horses you see here.  They are good girls and are members of a critically endangered breed that, like horse-powered farming, is undergoing a resurgence.

I am Roy, their teamster and a first-generation farmer. We are a small, diverse, horse-powered farm that provides low-petroleum agricultural services. We are based in Petersham, Massachusetts.

You can hire us. This team will astonish you with their capabilities if you are not familiar with what a good team can do.  If you do know work horses, you can expect good performance from these 1600 lb. mares.

If your forestry plan calls for pre-commercial thinning and you don't want wheel ruts, please contact me at the phone or e-mail below.  If you want to take the kids on a horse-drawn wagon ride, contact me.  Molly and Maggie provide renewable, sustainable power that is little understood today.

Give us a try.  You will be glad you did.  Please check out the other agricultural services we offer, too.

Thank You

Much loved, Easter is always ready to relax on the job

March 30: We had a very busy weekend visiting with six families and other friends. We introduced all the new baby goats to the children, groomed Maggie and Molly and rode Prince and Sassie. We burned much of the brush created when I took down the old white pine (right) to let some sun into the yard and to keep it from ending up on the carriage house.
